About Amanda

Professionally:
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Education and spent two years as a middle school science teacher before becoming a Stay-At-Home-Mom.  I was searching for a way to connect to other moms and joined a Stroller Strides class.  That decision started me on my path to becoming an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor in 2010.  I started teaching for Stroller Strides, then on my own, and now I currently teach at a local fitness center.  I have a certificate from AFAA in Perinatal Fitness, focusing on Pre- and Post-Natal fitness instruction.  I have also attended workshops for Instructor certificates in BodyShred and PiYo.  I teach Water Boot Camp, BodyShred and PiYo and I love it!  I'm working toward my Aqua Exercise certificate from SCW Fitness.

Personally:
My husband and I met in high school and have been married for 11 years!  I am Mom to three great children (ages 9, 7, and 4) who are in lots of activities and keep me super busy!  My little family is my inspiration for creating and maintaining a healthy and fit life. My husband and I want to be able to play with our kids and be around for them as they grow up.  We want to teach them healthy habits now so they can also lead healthy and active lives.

Fitness started as a way for me to get out of the house with my little ones and has now become an important part of my daily life.  On the days when I feel as though everything is out of my control, I can regain my strength with a workout.  That's what helps me be Every Day Strong!
